  1. John Burke, PhD

The second volume of Sasha—the French Songs, contains unhurried marvelous orchestral pensive moments with timeless reflective interludes. A fully three-dimensional hall sound provides the massed notes of Chausson a large hall space to grow and expand to full maturity. Instruments as well as Sasha’s pellucid voice carry each poem’s story forward to a sombre finality illustrating the tragedy, pathos and beauty of these High Romantic Period musical pieces . . . Perhaps I should more plainly say, “Magnificent”.

I so appreciate your comments, John. You are an analog tape aficionado of the highest order. Both tape volumes of Sasha’s music with The Colburn Orchestra and Yehuda Gilad have been greatly appreciated. In fact, even before we released the CD, these tapes won the prestigious Audio Oasis Award from Dr. David Robinson, who has been such a great influence in Yarlung’s young life. I’m very happy you like Sasha’s Chausson.
